Additions to My Collection: December 2021

I'm trying out a new blog post format, where I go over the anime/manga/etc I've added to my collection in each month. Still a work-in-progress, as I'm figuring out what is the best way to display the pictures. Most of these are Finnish releases, so the information is not of much use to English-speaking folks, but I've included the places I've bought each of these from and the price. (This is not an advertisement for any of these products - I'm not affiliated with any retailers or publishers, and these are purely my own opinions.)

Attack on Titan vol. 34 (Finnish edition)

Even as an anime-only for AoT, there was no way I was going to miss getting the manga's historical final volume on the day it was released in Finland, December 8. The volume marks the end of an era, concluding the manga's 6-year run in Finland. I won't be reading it until after the anime is finished, but in the meantime it'll sit comfortably in my bookshelf, its spine standing out next to the black ones of the other volumes of the series I have.
(Bought from my local supermarket on Wed, Dec 8th, for €6.20.)

Kaiju No. 8 vol. 1 (English edition)

I bingeread the first 20-ish chapters of Kaiju No. 8 last December, and have been following the new chapter releases (bi-)weekly ever since. It's quickly becoming one of my favourite manga, so I naturally had to get the first physical volume when it was released in English. For some reason the UK release date is in January, so Bookdepo and some local bookstores here in Finland wouldn't get it until then, but luckily Fantasiapelit gets its stock directly from America, so I could order it from there when it became available there just 16 days after the U.S. release date (as opposed to an entire month). Quality release, all the sound effects replaced and the translation leaves very little to be desired. I appreciate the color pages and volume extras too.
(Ordered from Fantasiapelit on Thu, Dec 23th, for €15.00 (incl. shipping). Arrived on Mon, Dec 27th.)

Astra: Lost in Space vol. 3 (Finnish edition)

Because of the same IRL circumstances that I mentioned in my Ranking of Anime 2021 post, I couldn't get these two volumes on their release dates (or even weeks), but on the last day of the year I went to pick them up. The first one is Astra's third volume, out of five in total. I rewatched the anime this year (well, it's last year now) before the manga began publication in Finland, and loved it. I haven't quite been enjoying the first two volumes as much as the anime, but now that the story is moving to the interesting parts, I'm expecting the good stuff to start happening.

Weathering with You vol. 3 (Finnish edition)

And the second one is the third and final volume of the manga adaption of Makoto Shinkai's Weathering with You. It's been an interesting adaption, taking creative liberties that have mostly been good, and its rougher artstyle also sets it apart from Shinkai's original work. I wouldn't mind seeing a solo manga by Wataru Kubota, because despite its roughness, his art definitely has its charm.
(Both of these bought from my local supermarket on Fri, Dec 31th, for €6.90 each.)
