EmaNegai Full Edition delayed to June...?
So. Revo and Pony Canyon have just announced that Ema ni Negai Wo! Full Edition will be delayed by three months to June 14. Yeah. That, uh, came out of nowhere. Or, I mean, you could say there were signs, since there had been very little marketing of any kind recently despite the original release date quickly approaching. But I was still surprised that it ended up being delayed by that much. It's understandable though, as you can't really add bug fixes to an already released Blu-ray (I mean, apparently you can but I've never once heard of that actually happening) so naturally Revo & team would want the disc to be released in a state as polished as possible.
As one would expect, the delay complicates things for me (and likely many other Laurants as well). I pre-ordered Ema Full in November on Amazon Japan, which charges on release date - meaning that I now have to keep EF in mind when making money decisions for three more months. The currency exchange rate could also go pretty much any way - those 21815 yen are now equal to 151 euros, but who knows how it'll be in June. That's a fun little thing that definitely won't stress me at all this spring.
It also affects my other plans - I had been planning to make an unboxing post here on the blog later this month when EF would arrive, and more related content later, but those will obviously have to be postponed now. There was also something else I had wanted to get out on the blog before EF, but now I'm not in a hurry anymore so I'll keep cooking that a bit longer. (Stay tuned.)
I'm not gonna lie, I feel a bit let down that this hyped-up, massive new SH release won't be coming out this month as previously announced, but I guess that's just life. There's still things to look forward this spring, mainly an exciting season of new and returning anime series. I mean, they can't delay all of the ones I'm planning to watch, right? Right?
Well, I think I'm gonna leave it at that. Hopefully this post wasn't too rant-y. I could speculate about how this affects any potential plans Revo might have for later this year, but there's no point in that when we don't even know if he actually has those plans. For now, all we can do is keep hoping for the best.
