Unboxing EmaNegai Full Edition

It's been a long time coming, but over 2 years after it was announced, 7 months after I pre-ordered it, and 3 months after it was originally supposed to be released, Sound Horizon's 7.5th or 8.5th Story BD Ema ni Negai wo! Full Edition is finally here. I originally wasn't sure if I was even going to buy it, but then decided to support Revo and get it... for as cheap as possible. Luckily Amazon Japan was selling it without any store bonuses for 17000 yen (19164 yen with Finnish VAT) plus 2651 yen shipping, so at the end I only paid a bit less than 150 euros - with the downside that I indeed didn't get those bonuses. Would they have been worth 5000 yen? Maybe... but probably not. Also worth mentioning is that this was my first experience with DHL as a courier and I'd say it was a positive one. I wasn't home on Monday to sign it when it arrived so I authorized them to leave it in the mailbox. The package arrived completely unharmed.

Ema Full's packaging is minimal, not what I'd expect from such a pricey release in any other circumstances, but I know that the sheer amount of content on the disc will make up for it. A standard DVD case contains the Blu-ray disc, the first press edition bonus (a fortune ticket) and a postcard. The front and back covers of the case are horizontal instead of vertical due to the cover illustration's width. The case is transparent, and the inner print has the cover illustration without the characters.

The fortune ticket is part 2 of 2, as the Prologue Edition had part 1. I didn't buy PE so that's not really relevant to me. If I had both parts, I could mail them together (using the postcard) to SH to enter a raffle to maybe win... something? The whole thing is a bit unclear to me. Instructions are in Japanese which I can't read, so... :D

The disc is a double-layer Blu-ray disc with 43.2 GB of content. H264 video, LPCM stereo audio. It is completely region-free. I quickly tested the disc with my portable Asus Blu-ray player and it plays fine with the latest version of VLC on Windows. (A tool to circumvent the disc's copy protection is necessary to play it with VLC. The other option is to use commercial software or a non-portable player such as a game console.)

There's currently no fan translations of content that wasn't in Prologue Edition or the previews, so I'll have to wait a while before I can enjoy the full story. For now, I'm just happy to finally have this new massive SH release in my collection.
